AnneElise Goetz is a business and corporate lawyer who has substantial experience in forming new business entities and structuring, negotiating and documenting the acquisition and sale of businesses. She also practices extensively in the fields of Federal and State taxation, with particular emphasis on limited liability companies, partnerships, and tax controversies. Her experience includes:
Business and Corporate Law: Serves as outside corporate counsel to small and mid-size market companies representing them in connection with various business transactions including entity selection, mergers and acquisitions, employment matters, real estate acquisitions, corporate governance and general business counseling.
Taxation Law: Advises clients and other business professionals on federal tax issues relating to partnerships, limited liability companies, S corporations, and personal income taxation.
Tax Controversy: Represents taxpayers in disputes with the Internal Revenue Service and California Franchise Tax Board relating to employment taxes, federal estate taxes and pass-through taxation issues.
Originally from the Midwest, Ms. Goetz attended University of Wisconsin Madison, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. She received her Juris Doctorate from Case Western Reserve University, School of Law, in Cleveland, Ohio where she was a member of the Niagara Moot Court Team and the recipient of the Saul S. Biskind Fellowship. Prior to joining Higgs, Fletcher & Mack, Ms. Goetz practiced corporate and tax law in Chicago, Illinois.
