Rachel James is part of the family law practice group at Higgs Fletcher & Mack. She devotes her practice exclusively to family law. Ms. James began her legal career practicing family law at a boutique firm in Arizona. She takes pride in her ability to empathize with a client's situation while providing the client with competent and thorough representation. Ms. James utilizes a creative approach in her practice and tries to resolve cases through mediation whenever possible. She is aggressive when necessary and has litigated cases in almost every area of family law, including, divorce, custody, paternity, spousal support, property division, modifications, move away, restraining orders, prenuptial agreements and family law appeals.
Ms. James is admitted to practice law in California, Arizona and the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. While in Arizona, Ms. James was an active member of the Maricopa County Bar Association, serving on the Board of Directors for both the Young Lawyers and Family Law Divisions. Ms. James was named the Young Lawyers Division Member of the Year in 2010 for her involvement in the Race Judicata, a 5k run that raises money for domestic violence education.
Ms. James received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Iowa and her Juris Doctor, Cum Laude, from California Western School of Law.
