Kate Martin joined Higgs Fletcher & Mack in 2005, specializing in Health Care litigation. In 2008, Ms. Martin relocated to San Francisco where she continued her civil litigation practice, specializing in all aspects of professional liability defense.
Ms. Martin returned home to San Diego and to Higgs Fletcher & Mack in 2011. The focus of her practice continues to be on the defense of businesses and individuals in all phases of civil litigation, in both state and federal court. Ms. Martin is licensed to practice in the United States District Courts for the Northern, Central, and Southern Districts of California.
Currently, Ms. Martin maintains a diverse practice, including: general tort, employment law, complex litigation, business litigation and transportation law. She also devotes a large portion of her practice to the defense of educational institutions and other public entities.
Ms. Martin received her bachelor's degree from the University of San Diego magna cum laude, with a dual major in political science and communications.
Based on her undergraduate performance and leadership in the community, Ms. Martin was awarded a full academic scholarship to attend California Western School of Law. Graduating with honors in 2005, Ms. Martin was also recognized nationally as part of the school's Mock Trial team and received numerous American Jurisprudence awards.
Ms. Martin has resided in both Dublin and Galway, Ireland
