Phillip C. Samouris

Phil Samouris represents companies in intellectual property disputes and general business litigation. Mr. Samouris has effectively represented companies in patent, trademark, and trade secret lawsuits, contractual disputes (including joint development agreements), interference with business relations, investor lawsuits, fraud, broker malpractice and employment issues. Mr. Samouris has personally handled numerous jury trials and arbitrations and, in 1996, was appointed Commissioner on the Commission on Judicial Nominees Evaluation (JNE Commission), an agency of the State Bar which evaluates judicial candidates nominated by the Governor. During law school, Mr. Samouris was the Executive Editor of the University of San Diego Law Review, graduated in the top 10% of his class and was a merit scholarship recipient. Mr. Samouris has also developed a specialty in Indian sovereignty claims, representing a prominent San Diego County Indian tribe. Mr. Samouris also represents individuals in a variety of lawsuits, including complaints arising from Internet related activity, estate disputes, and employment related claims. Mr. Samouris engages in all phases of litigation, including mediation, arbitration, and jury trials.

Prosecuted and defended numerous patent infringement lawsuits, including patents related to hair growth medication, speaker designs, and lens technology.

Trademark/Trade Dress
Prosecuted and defended numerous trademark and trade dress lawsuits, including lawsuits related to pet training devices, Internet meta-tag terms and more traditional business branding issues.

Copyright
Prosecuted copyright infringement lawsuits and protected numerous works, including educational/training seminar materials for a prominent, local marketing company.
