Bill Low is a senior trial lawyer and partner in the
litigation department. Prior to joining Higgs Fletcher & Mack in 1999, Mr. Low was a shareholder and managing partner of the law firm of McInnis, Fitzgerald, Rees & Sharkey. Mr. Low’s practice is concentrated in
business litigation,
product liability,
health care, and
intellectual property litigation. He has tried numerous jury trials to verdict, including one case
(Noonkester v. Scripps Clinic) covered by Court TV. Mr. Low was selected by his peers to be included in the 2007 edition of
The Best Lawyers in America.
Mr. Low has been actively involved in the defense of product liability actions on behalf of dietary supplement manufacturers in state and federal courts throughout the country. Mr. Low has served as an
expert witness in legal malpractice actions and has also
trained as a mediator at
Pepperdine University School of Law (Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution).
Mr. Low is a Master in the
American Inns of Court (Welsh Chapter) and has been involved in numerous San Diego legal associations. He is a member of the
Association of Business Trial Lawyers (ABTL) and is the 2007 President of the San Diego Chapter of the
American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). He has participated in the
San Diego Inn of Court College Advocacy as a Workshop Leader, Demonstrator (Closing Argument and Cross Examination), Member of the Board of Directors (1994-1997) and President (1998). Mr. Low has served on the Board of Directors of
San Diego Defense Lawyers (1995-1996), and was a member of the Barristers Club (Board of Directors, 1985-1986). He has received the
highest rating available (A-V) from Martindale-Hubbell for
ethics and legal ability.
Mr. Low is an Eagle Scout and former Scoutmaster and is active in various community activities, including the
Lawyers Have Heart 5K Run/Walk (American Heart Association), an event for which he served as Chairman in 2000.
