Thomas Correll joined Higgs Fletcher & Mack in 2004 bringing 40 years of
experience in the field of insurance. After working in the insurance industry for 14 years, Mr. Correll began a 26-year career in private practice handling
insurance coverage matters exclusively. He personally handled all major litigation and bad faith cases, as well as supervised all lines of insurance, while employed at
Travelers Insurance Company, which is now St. Paul Travelers Insurance Company.
Mr. Correll's experience includes representation of policyholders and many major property casualty insurance companies. He has not only successfully handled
thousands of insurance coverage disputes, but has also acted as a private mediator and arbitrator. He has consulted with insureds, insurers and outside counsel on coverage issues with extensive experience in the
drafting of policy language, claim handling and the writing of coverage opinions.
Mr. Correll has been retained as an expert on insurance coverage and bad faith issues in over 50 cases, and has been qualified to testify as an
expert witness on numerous occasions in both Superior and Federal Courts. In addition, Mr. Correll has acted as national coverage counsel for a major insurer in tobacco and asbestos litigation and routinely handles complex coverage disputes in many jurisdictions outside California.
Throughout his legal career, Mr. Correll has routinely
conducted seminars and other educational presentations for claims and underwriting departments of numerous insurance companies and has presented MCLE seminars at various bar association functions in San Diego and Orange Counties. He was a

Mr. Correll has been recognized as one of
