Julian B. Myers
Julian B. Myers joined Higgs Fletcher & Mack in 2002 and became a partner in 2008. He is an attorney licensed to practice in Mexico and California and is fluent in English and Spanish.
Mr. Myers received his law degree (Licenciado en Derecho) from the Anáhuac University in Mexico City, followed by a Masters Degree in Comparative Law (LL.M.) from the University of San Diego and a diploma in European Union Law from Magdalen College in Oxford, England.
While living in Mexico City, Mr. Myers worked as an associate with one of Mexico's most prestigious law firms, Noriega y Escobedo, A.C. Mr. Myers also served as legal consultant to the Mexico City Government, participating in a government program designed to provide pro bono legal services to the general public. Mr. Myers also served as legal manager for GE Capital Bank Mexico, S.A., where he supervised the day to day management of the company’s legal affairs.
Mr. Myers’ studies and experience in cross-border business, real estate and corporate law have given him the opportunity to interact with important members of the international business community. Mr. Myers has represented a broad range of clients having legal needs on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border and other Spanish speaking countries, including matters involving business transactions, business planning, corporate formation and maintenance, securities, real estate (specializing in Mexican real estate and all forms of foreign investment into Mexico), insurance, maquiladoras, licensing, franchise, international trade (including matters governed by the NAFTA and the EU-Mexico Free Trade Agreement) and negotiations with the Mexican government.
