Laura Buckley practices in all areas of Federal and State taxation, specializing in cost-effective resolution of tax controversies. She represents individuals and businesses before the Internal Revenue Service and the state taxing agencies, in the United States Tax Court and other federal and state courts. Ms. Buckley also advises and represents creditors and debtors in business disputes and insolvency matters, including business reorganizations, Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcies, and resolution of bankruptcy taxes.
Before joining Higgs Fletcher & Mack, Ms. Buckley was an IRS Chief Counsel attorney and a Special Assistant United States Attorney. In 2007, Ms. Buckley was selected as National Chair for all IRS Counsel's young attorneys.

Originally from San Diego, Ms. Buckley spent two years at Oxford University, in Oxford, England, prior to attending law school, and three years teaching reading at local low-income schools.
Ms. Buckley also served as a full-time judicial extern to the Honorable Arthur L. Alarcon on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
