EmploymentThe Firm provides employment counsel to a broad range of clients on all aspects of the employment relationship, including protection of trade secrets and confidential information, substance abuse programs, drafting and/or modifying employee personnel policy manuals, sexual harassment policies and procedures, termination of employees, reductions in force, the Americans With Disabilities Act, wage and hour laws, the California Fair Employment and Housing Act, Title VII, Family Medical Leave Act issues, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation questions, and other related employment matters. Attorneys assist clients in avoiding claims and managing risk. However, when necessary, the Firm has extensive experience in employment-related litigation in both Federal and State courts, administrative agencies, and arbitration.The Employment Group represents clients of all sizes from many industries, including construction, high-tech, biotech, manufacturing, service, hotels, restaurants, retail and educational institutions. The Group's experience includes successful representation of wage and hour claims, including class actions, unemployment claims, wrongful termination and protection of trade secrets and confidential information. The Firm is actively involved in the employment community, with a partner of the Firm formerly serving as Chair of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the San Diego County Bar Association. Members of the Group have lectured extensively and been frequently published on issues relating to the employment relationship both locally and nationally. The practice group's members are also active in the Labor and Employment Group of ALFA International with one partner currently serving as Chair of ALFA International's Labor and Employment Practice Group. They are also active in the Society for Human Resource Management and the San Diego Employers Association. |
