In June, former San Diego District Attorney Paul Pfingst rejoined Higgs Fletcher & Mack LLP. Mr. Pfingst had been a partner at Higgs prior to being elected District Attorney in 1994. While serving as San Diego DA, he was recognized by Time Magazine as one of the country's top "innovators in justice." Mr. Pfingst's practice will focus in the areas of civil and criminal law, election law, and professional licensing issues. Paul and Connie Pfingst and their two children reside in Del Mar.

Also in June, four attorneys from McKenna, Long & Aldridge made the move to San Diego's law firm.

James Harrigan is a business and corporate lawyer who practices extensively in the field of healthcare law. He has served as counsel in the formation and operation of several medical groups, including Scripps Clinic Medical Group and Children's Specialists of San Diego. Mr. Harrigan and his wife, Maria, reside in Mission Hills. They have 3 children.

Gregory Pyke has extensive experience in mergers, acquisitions, and start-ups, including venture capital financing and real estate transactional matters. Mr. Pyke was the Firm's choice to represent McKenna & Cuneo in its 2001 merger with Long, Aldridge & Norman. Greg and Janice Pyke have three grown children and reside in the East County.

Susan Mercure specializes in sophisticated estate planning, designing revocable and irrevocable trusts and devising business buy-out agreements. Ms. Mercure holds both a law degree and a Master of laws. She and her husband, Robert Watrous, have one child and reside in Mission Hills.

Marco Garavaglia specializes in transactional business, corporate, real estate, finance, healthcare, and sports and entertainment law. Mr. Garavaglia's practice includes the counseling and representation of various small to medium sized businesses, and includes several national and international racecar drivers and motorcycle racers. Marco and Vanessa Garavaglia and their son reside in Carmel Valley.
