ANNOUNCEMENTS

Attorneys and Staff at Higgs Give Hurricane Victims the Gift of Literacy
Attorneys and Staff at Higgs Fletcher & Mack have donated approximately 750 books to New Orleans victims of Hurricane Katrina. The donation of hardbacks, paperbacks, popular fiction, children's, and literary books will go directly to victims of the hurricane.

The donation was made through the Katrina Literacy Collective, a group of African-American publishers who believe that books can collectively comfort survivors, provide an opportunity to acquire knowledge that might help them gain a new foothold on their lives, promote love of Black literature, and foster literacy among youth.

We are proud to assist such a worthy cause.

Tim Konold Selected by Peers for "San Diego's Top Attorney 2005" List
Tim Konold has been named one of San Diego's top ten attorneys for Real Estate and Construction Law. The announcement was published August 11, 2005 in the San Diego Daily Transcript inaugural edition of "Top San Diego County Attorneys."

Over 6,300 San Diego lawyers were invited to nominate those among their peers worthy of recognition. Attorneys were not allowed to nominate themselves. The 370 nominations were slotted into six pre-selected categories and the top 25 winners in each category became semi-finalists. From those semi-finalists, ten attorneys in each category were selected based on the number of peer votes received.

Mr. Konold, a partner since 1978, is a member of the firm's Financial Services and Real Estate practice groups. With a practice that emphasizes real property, secured transactions, partnerships, and corporate law, Tim has represented developers, investors, lenders, and borrowers in a wide variety of commercial real estate transactions.
